Ondo Guber Race: PDP Candidate Agboola Ajayi Seeks Support of Retired Civil Service Leaders
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the November 16 election in Ondo State, Mr. Agboola Ajayi, has called on the Association of Retired Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Service in the state to support his bid.
Ajayi, a former deputy governor, is contesting against candidates from 16 other political parties in the highly anticipated race.
Speaking during a meeting with members of the association in Akure on Friday, Ajayi emphasized the importance of engaging with the body, stressing that their experience and expertise would be crucial to his administration if elected.
“I’m here today to seek your support as the PDP’s candidate in the upcoming election,” he stated. “I’ve come to share my seven-point agenda, which my administration will pursue if I become the Governor of Ondo State.”
Ajayi assured the retired senior civil servants that their past contributions to the state would not be forgotten, promising to create avenues for their continued involvement in governance.
“Your input remains valuable, even in retirement. We will establish a framework to ensure your wealth of experience is utilized in moving our state forward,” he said.
Ajayi’s outreach to the association is part of his broader campaign strategy to build alliances with key stakeholders across the state ahead of the election.
