CAF Mourns Tragic Death of Ugandan Match Official Peter Kabugo
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has expressed profound sorrow following the sudden passing of Ugandan Premier League match official Peter Kabugo.
According to a statement released on Sunday via X (formerly Twitter), Kabugo collapsed during a football league match held at Wankulukuku Stadium in Uganda and tragically passed away.
CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe extended heartfelt condolences to Kabugo’s family, the Federation of Ugandan Football (FUFA), and its president, Moses Magogo.
“The CAF President Dr. Motsepe conveys his and CAF’s personal condolences to the family of Peter Kabugo, the Federation of Ugandan Football (FUFA), its president Moses Magogo, and the Ugandan people,” the statement read.
Motsepe also offered words of comfort to all those affected by the tragic loss. “May Peter Kabugo’s soul rest in eternal peace,” he added.
Kabugo’s passing marks a somber moment for the Ugandan football community, with many mourning the loss of a dedicated official whose presence on the field will be sorely missed.
