Ondo 2024: Kogi Governor Ododo Rallies Ebira Support for APC's Aiyedatiwa
As the race for the Ondo State governorship intensifies ahead of the November 16 election, Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo has called on the Ebira community in Ondo to throw their weight behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Speaking on Saturday during a meeting with members of the Ebira community in Owo Local Government Area, Governor Ododo affirmed the group’s unanimous support for the incumbent governor, citing the need for continuity in governance.
“We, the entire Ebira community across Ondo State, have resolved to support and vote for the All Progressives Congress in the coming election,” Ododo declared.
He lauded Governor Aiyedatiwa for continuing the legacy of his predecessor, the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
“You have been tested and trusted, and that is why we are 100 per cent behind you,” he added. “The Ebira people are solidly with you, and we will ensure victory on November 16.”
Aiyedatiwa Grateful for Support
In response, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude to the Kogi governor and the Ebira community, emphasizing the importance of solidarity and inclusive governance.
He also praised President Bola Tinubu for his unwavering support of Ondo State’s development since assuming office.
“President Tinubu has consistently shown interest in our state’s progress,” Aiyedatiwa noted. “I also appreciate Governor Ododo for governing Kogi with the strength of youth and the wisdom of elders.”
Adelami Commends Ododo’s Leadership
Also speaking at the event, APC deputy governorship candidate and Ondo State Deputy Governor, Dr. Olayide Adelami, applauded Ododo for taking an active role in mobilizing his people in support of the party’s electoral ambitions.
“Your presence here shows your dedication to our party and to the welfare of your people across state lines,” Adelami said. “Our administration remains committed to including non-indigenes in decision-making and governance in Ondo State.”
Governor Aiyedatiwa is contesting alongside 15 other candidates from various political parties in a tightly watched election that will determine the next leadership of the South-Western state.
